LOCAL enthusiasts of golf can enjoy a game and at the same time also contribute to the Kampong Pandai Besi ‘A’ and Kampong Lorong Dalam Fire Victims’ Charity Fund by teeing off at the Malaysian Citizens Association (PWM) Kampong Ayer Charity Golf event set to take place on January 22 at the Pantai Mentiri Golf Club.
The announcement of the charity golf organised by PWM with the support of Pantai Mentiri Golf Club was made by Ken Kho, the Vice President of Sports under PWM, during a press conference that was attended by James Lee, the President of PWM, Haji Sani bin Haji Bakir, the General Manager of Pantai Mentiri Golf Club, and Sadi bin Mohd Yassin the Vice Chairman of Pantai Mentiri Golf Club.
The event, which will be played on the stroke-play system format, also features around $33,000 worth of hole-in-one prizes comprising a brand new Proton for hole No 7.
There will also be $5,000 rewards for anyone who can hit a hole-in-one for holes No 9, 13 and 16.
Limited to only 84 golfers, the charity golf’s registration fee is $80 for Pantai Mentiri Golf Club members and $100 for non-members.
According to Ken Kho, after deducting expenses, the proceeds will be handed over to the charity fund.
Meanwhile, James Lee lauded that PWM has on numerous occasions organised such events for the past 25 years, including blood donation and charity drives.
He also expressed his gratitude to the Pantai Mentiri Golf Club and sponsors involved in the upcoming event.
Registration forms for the PWM Kampong Ayer Charity Golf can be obtained from the Pantai Mentiri Golf Club and the deadline for submissions of complete entry forms is January 17, 2017.
