THE chic and trendy cafe, Magnum Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) has officially opened its door in a grand launching ceremony yesterday at Citis Square, Berakas.
Personifying the Belgian chocolate brand and premium positioning, the ice-cream store reveals its new space to pleasure seekers.
The grand opening ceremony was officiated by Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister of Culture,Youth and Sports.
Also present were Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hisham bin Haji Mohd Hanifah, the Deputy Minister of Finance and Chairman of Royal Brunei Catering Sdn Bhd (RBC) and; and Shiv Sahgal, Marketing Director of Food & Refreshment Uniliver (M) Holdings Sdn Bhd.
In welcoming remarks, Ahmad Husaini bin Hassan, the General Manager of RBC, explained that as one of the world’s leading ice cream brand, Magnum BSB strive to offer unique dining experience to local patrons.
“From the first day of our soft opening in early December, Magnum BSB has been dubbed as the ultimate customisable ice-cream.
“Make-my-Magnum experience has sent explosive shockwaves throughout social media and media platforms alike,” he added.

Meanwhile in a speech by Shiv Sahgal, said that Magnum ice-cream has been privileged to enjoy the love of the people of Brunei.
“The idea of Magnum Cafe is to bring the ultimate and rich experience of Magnum to life in the iconic cities around the world. It is about creating a physical space where people who love Magnum, could interact and create their own unique Magnum experience.
“The Magnum Cafe will inspire the people of Brunei to be unique and to create a style that defines themselves as individuals, with each Magnum creation reflecting your personality and the mood you are in. Thus every visit will be special,” he ended.
The launching ceremony was then followed with signing of a plaque by the minister to commemorate the launch of Magnum Bandar Seri Begawan.
Also witnessing the grand launching ceremony yesterday were the permanent secretaries at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, members of the board of directors of RBC and invited guest.
