THE 7th Brunei Wedding Festival 2017 (BWF2017), run by Songket Wedding, officially opened yesterday at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas.
More than 50 wedding exhibitors, including many newcomers, are taking part and aiming to top those held in previous years.
The event’s guest of honour was Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Hajah Siti Radhiah binti Pengiran Maharaja Lela Sahibul Kahar Pengiran Anak Haji Mohd Yusof.
In her welcoming speech, the BWF2017’s event manager Liz Alli highlighted the festival’s yearly objective to aid the development of the local wedding industry.
“We truly believe that creating a singular platform for wedding-related businesses will help improve the quality of this industry by increasing awareness of such businesses to the public at large, and also by creating a friendly arena in which these businesses can compete in delivering the best service to consumers,” she said.
The manager further explained that the event pools together top names from the wedding industry in an effort to execute a festival that surpasses those held in the past.
This year’s programme has in store some exciting activities and prizes that await visitors – not only those to-be-wed but also exhibitors and the general public – until tomorrow.
They include the ‘Mengubah Sirih Junjung’ competition and ‘Menambat Dastar’ contest organised by HYS Tindulang with the support of JHLL.
There will also be a grand lucky draw whereby contestants stand a chance to win a set of bride-and-groom-wear worth $10,000 sponsored by one of the Malaysian vendors and renowned fashion designer – Wanpa.
In addition, there is the Best Booth Decoration competition for vendors, similar to previous years, to bring out the creativity among exhibitors.
