Nationalism briefing continues at SMJA

THE Information Department – through the Nationhood Unit under the Nationhood and Community Division- continued its nationalism briefing yesterday with a talk at Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam Secondary School (SMJA) to strengthen the patriotic spirit among students and teachers.

Information Department Officer Ali Termizzi bin Haji Ramlli @ Haji Ramli discussed the procedure to hoist the national flag, as well as the history and meaning behind the national anthem, ‘Allah Peliharakan Sultan’.

The students later watched a video presentation on ‘Kibarkanlah Dengan Megah Bendera Negara’ and a video animation on how to hoist the national flag. This was followed by the ‘Kuiz Kenegaraan’ for students.

The briefing concluded with the presentation of prizes to students who had correctly answered the quiz questions, and a souvenir to the school authority.

The programme is part of concerted efforts by the Information Department to instil the spirit of patriotism among students, and to respect and embrace the national anthem and national flag.

The programme was attended by Principal Haji Jumaata bin Sonadey Haji Mornie, deputy principals, teachers and 193 students of Year 7.
