DPMM FC yesterday has confirmed its 25 member’s squad including new imports François Christian Herve Sebastian Marque, Billy Mehmet and last year’s top scorer of the league for DPMM FC Rafael Ramazotti De Quadros to compete in the upcoming S League campaign following the signing of player’s ceremony.
The signing was witnessed by guest of honour Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Maharaja Setia Laila Diraja Sahibul Irshad Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Rahim bin Pengiran Indera Mahkota Pengiran Anak (Dr) Kemaludin Al-Haj, Deputy Chairman of DPMM FC.
Signing on behalf of the club are Pengiran Haji Muhd Waslimin bin Pengiran Setia Jaya Pengiran Haji Abdul Momin, Club Manager, and Ali bin Haji Momin, the Team Manager.
Former Tampines Rovers forward, Billy Mehmet in an interview said, “I am honoured to be able to come here to play for DPMM FC. This is a fresh challenge for me despite being in this region for four years and I played in Malaysia for two years. I know the culture in this region, and the players as well as the coaching staff have made me feel very welcomed here.
“I will play hard and give 100 per cent for DPMM FC. I hope that I can score as many goals and create as many goals as possible. The most important thing is the team, winning the games and to have a successful season. I am looking forward to play for the club and take it from there.”
Commenting on the current DPMM FC squad, he said, “We have a really strong team and there are a lot of talented local players in the squad. Rafael Ramazotti, top goal scorer in the league has been a big part of the team.”
Meanwhile, striker Rafael Ramazotti has signed a new deal with DPMM FC and has voiced his desire to win the title with DPMM FC.
He expressed that he would exchange his top scorer award for the S League title with DPMM FC.
“The most important thing is to win the title because the team is more important than any individual award. I will continue to help the club to win matches by scoring goals,” the Brazilian striker said.
On the championship caliber of the team, he said, “We always work towards winning championships in the league. We have to work hard as a team and play well in preparation games in Thailand. Billy and myself play well together in front and we are looking forward in the first match against Home United.”
