HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Inspector General of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) yesterday attended the 96th Police Day Parade at the Parade Square, RBPF Headquarters.
The parade was held in conjunction with the 96th anniversary of RBPF’s establishment.
Also attending the parade were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Deputy Inspector General of the RBPF; His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Honorary Commissioner of Police; Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Commandant of the Women Police; and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Nor’ain, Deputy Commandant of the Women Police.
The 96th Police Day carried the theme ‘Solidarity and Harmony Strengthen Peace’.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohd Jammy bin Haji Muhd Shah Al-Islam, the Commissioner of Police. Also present was Dato Paduka Awang Haji Hamdan bin Haji Abu Bakar, the Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office.
During the event, His Majesty received the royal salute and inspected the parade contingents of the RBPF. The contingents comprised 932 personnel from various departments and formations within the RBPF and were led by Police Superintendent Mazalan bin Haji Yaakub. After the inspection, the monarch delivered a titah in which His Majesty emphasised the importance for the RBPF to uplift its efforts in the enforcement of the law.
After the parade, a mass pledge of loyalty was taken by all police personnel present at the event, led by Senior Superintendent of Police Chiply bin Haji Mohammad. This was followed by the three times chanting of ‘Daulat’.
The bless the ceremony, a Doa Selamat was read by Assistant Police Commissioner Mohammad Amiruddin bin Haji Tunjang.
After the parade, His Majesty proceeded to the new building of the Police Headquarters to attend its launching ceremony.
