‘JALAN Pasir Putih’, a local horror movie by a 25-year-old aspiring filmmaker, had its first screening at the Plaza Sutera Biru in Seria, earlier this week.
Mohamad Azri Al Azhar bin Edham Khalid, who is known to his closest associates as Aj Khalid, expressed delight that his first directorial effort was being premiered on February 23, Brunei Darussalam’s National Day.
‘Jalan Pasir Putih’ will continue to be screened for the next four weeks. Meanwhile, for his next project, Mohamad Azri hopes to work closely with the Malaysian film industry.
He has words of advice for local youths who are interested in filmmaking as a career: “Continue to chase that dream, work hard for it, and always remember to pray to Allah the Almighty.”
He also thanked his family and all those who were involved during the process of making the movie, including the crew members, CamlightGraphy Studio, the actors and actresses of ‘Jalan Pasir Putih’, Plaza Sutera Biru, Adam Groves, Coffeescrub Lawakaliah, Neez Hs, Fakhrul Razi and Brunei Dot Com.

Meanwhile, the movie was recently premiered at the Grand Seria Bowling Centre.
Present as guest of honour was YB Awang Ha-napi bin Mohd Siput, member of Legislative Council and Acting Penghulu of Mukim Labi.
Before the movie was shown a short speech was given by the director of the movie. He expressed gratitude to those who helped make the movie possible and for the guest of honour’s presence.
A small gift was then presented by the director to the guest of honour.
