AIMAN bin Mujibur Rahman, 10, also known as ‘Brunei’s Strongest Kid’ attempted his trial to pull a 3,340kg 22-seater bus yesterday.

His attempt included the pulling of the 22-seater bus, along the 50 feet length of KB Sentral Car Porch Area.

While Aiman managed to pull the 22-seater bus, his attempt fell short of the targeted distance planned originally.

Although this might be a set-back for Aiman, his father was unfazed by the attempt.

“Aiman had successfully pulled a 22-seater bus similar to the one today twice before. Aiman trained for this event by pulling a bus similar to this one for a week before today’s event.”

He said the attempt had some technical issues related to the bus tire not being properly aligned which strained Aiman’s body as he attempted to pull it.

“The tiles that Aiman stood were also quite slippery which further complicated the attempt,” he said. “We will attempt this in the future.”

Aiman was also not satisfied with his attempt at pulling the bus and added he wanted to try again under better circumstances.

Anwar Rosly, Marketing Manager of KB Sentral Shopping Centre said the event was a learning experience for all involved.

“We hope to improve from it and provide more support to Aiman at pulling the bus,” he said.

Support for Aiman from the audience was positive.

A local who was among the large crowd witnessing the event, said, “This is my first time watching Aiman pulling the bus, and even though the attempt did not reach its intended target, I would be happy to support him and watch his future endeavour.”

Another who witnessed the event also shared the same views and added, “For such a young kid, being able to pull a bus no matter the distance is an incredible feat and should not be scoffed at.”

Aiman’s trial on pulling the bus was met with a positive attitude with KB Sentral presenting him and his family gifts.

‘Brunei’s Strongest Kid’ also posed for photographs with members of the audience.

Aiman’s previous attempts included the pulling of a 1,800kg Toyota Alphard at KB Sentral as well as a bus similar in size and weight seen on the day of the attempt, at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium. Both attempts were successful and completed in 2016.
