In a press statement, NFABD said that Takaful Brunei Darussalam has committed to become the title sponsor for the Futsal Super League this year, which is now in its second edition, and are keen to support the development of futsal in the country.
NFABD went on to explain that the league itself carries the aims of improving the level of futsal in Brunei, preparing the National Team’s player pool in preparation for international events in the future, to pave opportunities to all local futsal clubs to have an opportunity for active participation.
Yesterday also saw Wafidania Enterprise pledge their support to the Super League by sponsoring 20 futsal match balls. On hand to present the sponsored match balls to Haji Madli was Haji Idris bin Haji Abdul Hamid, the General Manager of Wafidania Enterprise.
Speaking to the Borneo Bulletin after the signing, the Acting Managing Director of Takaful Brunei Darussalam said, “The reason why we sponsored this event is because we believe in the future of our country and this is one of the avenues where we can reach out, make some impact with regards to Takaful Brunei’s impact to the community as well.”
“It’s an opportunity for us, as the Acting Deputy President said, it’s in line with the healthy lifestyle that the Brunei government wants to promote and this is an avenue where we believe that Takaful Brunei can also contribute.
“Having a Futsal Super League can see the awareness of fitness going on there, so it actually helps with regards to the community, the lifestyle, the family awareness that we have which coincides with Takaful Brunei’s values as well.”
The league will kick off with an opening ceremony and a Sumbangsih Cup match between Kota Junior and Bio Futsal Team at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah Sports Complex on April 29.
During a press conference after the signing, it was shared that cash prizes and medals are on offer for the eventual top three teams of the league, while individuals who excel in the competition will also be recognised.
In addition, it was mentioned that the Futsal Premier league, the second tier futsal league, is also to be launched soon.
