HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Royal Highness Princess ‘Azemah Ni’matul Bolkiah attended and participated in a friendly polo match between Brunei and 61st Cavalry Indian Army yesterday afternoon at Royal Brunei Polo and Riding Club.
The Brunei team, led by Her Royal Highness, comprised Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Muda Bahar, Farid Abdullah and Lucas Fernandez, whilst the Indian team was led by Colonel Rajesh Pattu.
The match was organised in conjunction with His Majesty’s 70th birthday celebration.
His Majesty has had a long association with the 61st Cavalry Indian Army team with whom the monarch previously played.
Brunei won 10-4 with Her Royal Highness scoring two goals.
His Majesty presented the prizes.
Other members of the royal family attending the match were His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Wakeel, Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-At-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Nagma Mohamed Mallick, High Commissioner of India to Brunei Darussalam, and other foreign dignitaries also attended the event.
