SHOOTINGS Stars Brunei with Fitness Zone recently signed with Sports Camp Australia (SCA).
With this partnership, Fitness Zone’s goal is to bring in professional players and coaches from Australia and other parts of the world to Brunei.
The partnership will entail basketball camps held during the school break.
Wu Chun, managing director of Fitness Zone, said, “The camps are not only for competitive athletes. It is also catered to beginners.
“Being active in sports has to become a habit.”
Coach Ken Han of Shooting Stars Brunei said, “Kids are the future. it is very important to back to the fundamentals of basketball.
“Sports help build character, discipline, responsibility and independence.”
Coach Ryan added, “We are excited to be part of the upcoming camps. It is our vision to inspire the kids.
“We as local coaches are always looking to learn best practices and concepts from other coaches to give back to the children.
“Being an avid sports fan and having played basketball (for Brunei national team), I know how difficult it is for young players, especially Bruneians, to be given the right exposure and opportunity to learn from the best.
“During my time, I was not privileged to get such opportunities. So, it is my ambition and goal to ensure that young Bruneian sportspeople are given this opportunity.”
The SCA Nike Basketball Camp will be held at Fitness Zone, MPH, Kiulap om March 27-29. It is open to those aged six to 21. The three-day camp will start at 9am and end at 5pm.
The SCA Nike PHIZZ KIDZ Multisport Camp will be held at the same venue MArch 30-31. It is open to kids aged five to 13. The camp is from 9am to noon.
