A MEETING was held at the Tutong District Civic Centre yesterday to discuss plans for the 71st birthday celebrations of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in the Tutong District.
Among the main agenda was the appointment of supreme committee members and chair-persons for festive events during the royal birthday celebrations.
Proposals for sectoral events were also discussed, including those on religious, sporting and community-based events, such as the ‘71 Khatam Al-Quran’ recitations for members of the mukim and village consultative councils.
Among those in attendance at the meeting were members of the Legislative Council; Shamsul Bahrin bin Haji Mohd Hussain, the Tutong District Officer; senior government officers; members of the supreme committees and chairpersons of festive events; and the mukim and village heads of Tutong District.
