THE Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB) recently handed over a contribution of $1,200 to two families whose home was destroyed in a fire at Kampong Batu Ampar, Jalan Mulaut/Limau Manis.
The donation was presented by Acting Deputy Secretary of the council, Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sabtu, at the Seroja Room of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
The eighty-year-old houseowner, Yakub bin Serail received $200, while $1,000 was handed over to his grandson Mazlan bin Haji Adam and his spouse. Their three children received school material.
The contribution, which came from the Zakat Asnaf Fakir Miskin fund, was made to ease their burden.
