A TOTAL of 41 awardees were celebrated recently at Salambigar Hall of Sultan Sharif Ali Secondary School (SMSSA). More than 300 students, parents and teachers were present to commemorate the event. Fifteen students attained nine ‘O’ Level subjects, while six accomplished eight ‘O’ Level.
Individual subject high achievers were also recognised where six students were rewarded for achieving grade A* in various subjects.
The ceremony began with the singing of the national anthem followed by the school song, and blessed with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat by Cikgu Haji Khairul Irwan bin Haji Abdul Rahman.
In a welcoming speech, Cikgu Umar bin Haji Ramlee, Principal of the school congratulated the students. He mentioned the students’ success depends largely on the strong support from parents and teachers. The principal also showed appreciation to teachers who have shown dedication and commitment towards teaching and learning.
A feature video presentation was also showcased where students were able to reminisce their participation in various academic and co-curricular activities in 2016.
Excellence awards were also presented to two BTEC students for completing the Pearson BTEC International Level 2 Extended Certificate in Information Technology. Norafiqah binti Mohd Daud, a special needs student also completed the Pre-Vocational programme.
The event ended with a group photo with all recipients, parents and teachers.
