MEMBERS of the Vespa Owner’s Club and SOG Brunei gathered at the launch of the iconic Italian scooter ‘Vespa’ under the Piaggio Group at the Grand Motors Sdn Bhd showroom in Beribi yesterday.
Grand Motors Executive Director Pengiran Haji Abdul Qahar bin Pengiran Sanggamara Diraja Major General (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Ibnu Ba’asith and Managing Director Frankie Ho welcomed the guests.
Over 20 riders participated in the Vespa Brunei maiden ride traversing local landmarks such as the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium and Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kampong Kiarong to commemorate the event.
Grand Motors management expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming support after having sold-out Vespa scooters within a few months and added that more will be coming to satisfy the strong market demand.
Mohd Rudy bin Salleh, a local Vespa owner in an interview with the Sunday Bulletin said, “Vespa is a lifestyle and I’ve always liked the vintage look of it; I purchased a Vespa 250GTV around nine years ago.”
Meanwhile, The Vespa models available in Brunei are Vespa Sprint sport, Primavera 150, Primavera 150 70th anniversary edition, PX150 and GTS300 super to name a few.
