LegCo, DPD RI strenghten ties

YB PEHIN Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib, Speaker of the Legislative Council (LegCo) received a courtesy call from Republic of Indonesia’s House of Regional Representatives (DPD RI) delegation yesterday.

The visit took place at the LegCo Building in Jalan Dewan Majlis. According to a press release, the objectives of the visit were to fortify good ties between LegCo and DPD RI, apart from being a platform for discussions that would benefit both sides.

The delegation comprised members of the DPD RI, led by Dr H Bambang Sadono, Deputy Chairman of the Institutional Capacity Development Committee of DPD RI.

Arko Hananto Budiadi, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Brunei Darussalam was also present during the visit.

Present during the courtsey call were Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Jaya Dato Paduka Haji Judin bin Haji Asar, Clerk I (First) to the LegCo, as well as several LegCo members.

A dialogue session took place, chaired by YB Pehin Orang Kaya Pendikar Alam Dato Paduka Seri Haji Hasrin bin Dato Paduka Haji Sabtu, a LegCo member, following the courtesy call.

Both sides discussed and exchanged ideas on several matters, pertaining to the aspects and responsibilities of district-elected members.
