MINISTER of Culture, Youth and Sports Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof yesterday received a courtesy call from Labuan Corporation Chairman Datuk Rozman bin Datuk Haji Isli at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
The close geographic positions of Brunei Darussalam and the Federal Territory of Labuan encouraged the discussion under the framework of Brunei Bay as the catalyst.
The minister and Datuk Rozman held fruitful discussions and exchanged views on how to further boost cooperation between Brunei and the Federal Territory of Labuan in the areas of culture, youth, sports and tourism.
They also discussed activities and programmes that can further strengthen relations among grassroots communities and organisations in Brunei and Labuan. Examples of these include inter-family and youth exchange programmes, as well as sports.

Before concluding the meeting, the minister invited the Federal Territory of Labuan to have a closer look at the facilities offered in Brunei Darussalam.
Permanent Secretaries at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Norlila binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil and Haji Noor Jusmin bin Haji Abdul Samad as well as officials from Labuan were in attendance.
The visiting delegation also visited the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium Sports Gallery to observe the sports development and achievements of local athletes from 1950 to 1980s.
