Knowledge, opportunities at Open Day

THE Youth Development Centre (PPB) commenced its three-day Open Day yesterday as part of its initiative to promote its transformation since its establishment.

The Open Day is held to mark PPB’s 25th anniversary.

Held at the centre’s premises, the guest of honour was Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.

The Open Day themed ‘Transforming the Skills of the Millennial Generation’, features various activities such as Youth Entrepreneurship, exhibitions, lucky draws, mini career fairs and PPB Alumni registrations. The event will be held until tomorrow.

The objective is to provide information on the mission, vision, programmes and learning opportunities offered at PPB.

It also aims to introduce new courses in line with the need of the millennial generation, as well as the implementation of upskilling and reskilling based on the requirements of the industrial market in Brunei.

It is also to share the success stories of its former trainees through the implementation of self-reliance in using the skills required from PPB as their primary or secondary income and to provide opportunities for employers to understand and learn about PPB.


FUN ACTIVITY

THE Open Day will include a 21km Bicyclethon and 3km Walkathon tomorrow.
