Bakiau Primary School launches mobile library

A MOBILE library was launched at Bakiau Primary School in Tutong yesterday to encourage students to explore sources of reading materials other than those available at their their school library.

The event was launched by the Village Head of Kg Bakiau Haji Burhanuddin bin Haji Hashim.

Headmaster Yakup bin Haji Abdul Rahman urged students to visit the mobile library to obtain the many benefits of reading, such as to stimulate their minds, reduce stress, increase memory as well as increase focus and concentration.

The event was enlivened with a song performance by students and was followed by a storytelling session.

An exhibition was also held to showcase some of the activities such as quizzes and puzzle held by the Language and Literature Bureau.

A total of 49 students, comprising pre-school to Year 6 pupils, attended the ceremony, where they also took part in various activities organised by the Language and Literature Bureau of the Tutong branch.
