A 50 TIMES Khatam Al-Quran ceremony to mark the Golden Jubilee of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was held yesterday at the Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Sungai Akar.
Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong; Penghulu of Mukim Berakas ‘B’ and Legislative Council member YB Pengiran Haji Ali bin Pengiran Maon as guest of honour; mosque members and village residents participated in the event.
A welcoming address was given by the chairman of the ceremony, Haji Abdul Hakim bin Haji Mohd Yasin, followed by a briefing and recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and verses from the Al-Quran.
