AIRASIA has refuted recent social media posts claiming to offer the public free AirAsia tickets.
One of these posts links to www.airasia.com-2017-givea.us and claims to redeem vouchers for tickets after participants have completed a survey. Another post, circulating on Facebook, purports to be offering 268 free AirAsia tickets in conjunction with AirAsia’s 28th anniversary.
“We would like to confirm that both of the social media posts are scams, using the AirAsia brand without authorisation to lure the public into participating in their schemes,” the low-cost airline said in a press statement.
“We strongly advise the public to disregard such scams and not to click on any links or provide any personal details. AirAsia shall not be held liable for any claims resulting from participation in these false schemes. All official announcements are made via AirAsia’s official channels and credible mass media,” it added.
AirAsia stated it will not hesitate to take legal action against individuals or groups that organise illegal schemes using the AirAsia brand.
Members of the public who wish to report any suspected scams using the AirAsia brand or clear any doubts may get in touch with AirAsia via its official communication channels.
