Their loyal contributions, he added, “are very much appreciated and they are seen as the country’s exemplary and model civil servants”.

The acting permanent secretary also made reference to His Majesty’s titah during the 23rd Civil Service Day in 2016.

“The country is in need of the service of civil servants. Through their services, the country can improve productivity and output,” he said, iterating his hope that the Long Service Medal recipients and Prime Minister’s Office staff will continue maintaining their morale and commitment in increasing their work efficiency.

“They should also adopt a positive mindset and can influence an excellent work culture among their fellow colleagues and civil service staff,” he added.

The ceremony concluded with a Doa Selamat read by Haji Aziz bin Haji Yassin, a Mosque Affairs Officer.

The Long Service Medal signifies His Majesty’s Government’s recognition and appreciation of officers who have rendered good service and demonstrated sparkling work performance for at least 20 years in the civil service.

The award is also meant to further motivate the recipients to maintain their work quality and provide better public service for the government and the country.
