THE Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD) of the Ministry of Communications organised a mass recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil ceremony at the Brunei International Airport Surau, Berakas, yesterday at 3pm to to mark the 2016 World Meteorological Day celebrations as well as to commemorate the establishment of the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO).
It is also a day to remember the substantial contribution to the safety and well-being of society made by the National Meteorological and Hydrological Services, under the leadership of the WMO.
Present as the guest of honour was the Minister of Communications, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat.
Also present at the ceremony were the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications Haji Azhar bin Haji Ahmad, directors, head of departments, deputy directors, deputy head of departments, senior officers, staff members from the Ministry of Communications and other departments under the ministry.
The ceremony was one of the activities organised by the BDMD to help tighten the ties between officers and staff within the ministry.
