THE Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) yesterday shared their blessings with community members in the spirit of Ramadhan.
This was said by the Managing Director of BIBD, Mubashar Khokhar, at the annual BIBD Khatam Al-Quran ceremony.
“Alhamdulillah, we have been able to further extend our support during this holy month,” he added.
The event, held at The Empire Hotel & Country Club’s Indera Samudra Grand Hall, began with Tedarus and Khatam recitations amongst the bank’s personnel.
This was then followed by a religious talk from BIBD’s own Syariah Advisory Body member, Dr Haji Noralizam bin Haji Aliakbar.
Just before the breaking of fast, the event concluded with the handover of donations and award by the Chairman of BIBD Board of Directors and the Minister of Development, Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Bahrin bin Abdullah.
Relief and support were also given to single mothers and orphans within BIBD as well as 20 underprivileged ALAF families.
One of the event’s highlights was the presentation of an incentive award to BIBD’s ALAF Programme student Nurhafikah binti Haji Bakri from Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School, who achieved the Mumtaz (excellence) grade in her Brunei Religious Education of Higher Certificate examination last year.
