A KHATAM Al-Quran and Zikir ceremony was held last night at the Istana Nurul Iman, marking the end of the nightly Tedarus held since early Ramadhan.
The ceremony took place in the presence of Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Sanggamara Diraja Major General (Rtd) Pengiran Haji Ibnu Ba’asith bin Pengiran Datu Penghulu Pengiran Haji Apong.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, State Mufti.
The ceremony then proceeded with the recitation of verses from Al-Quran led by Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs.
The mass recitations of Takhtim and Tahlil as well as Doa Tahlil were led by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar, Chief Syar’ie Judge.

To further enliven the ceremony, Dikir Syarafil Anam and Marhaban were presented by Pehin-Pehin Khatib leading the recitation of the Zikir. The Zikir ceremony started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Pehin Khatib Dato Paduka Haji Emran bin Haji Kunchang.
Concluding the ceremony a Doa Selamat was read by the State Mufti.
Present were Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet Ministers, members of the Legislative Council, deputy ministers, Pengiran-Pengiran Peranakan, Pehin-Pehin Manteri, permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries and senior government officers.
