HIS Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik, Chairman of the Yayasan Committee of Governors, yesterday attended the Tahlil ceremony organised by the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah for His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s late parents, Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Abdul Rahman, at the Royal Mausoleum.
Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was greeted by Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Education and the Chairman of Yayasan Board of Directors; Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports and the Vice-Chairman I of Yayasan Board of Directors; and Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Zulkarnain bin Haji Hanafi, Minister of Health and Vice-Chairman II of the Yayasan Board of Directors.
Other attendees included Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs and a member of the Yayasan Committee of Governors; members of the Yayasan Board of Directors; members of the Board of Trustees of the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans; officers and staff of Yayasan; teachers of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah primary and secondary schools; as well as residents of the Kampong Bolkiah ‘A’ and Kampong Bolkiah ‘B’ housing schemes.
The recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil was led by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Raja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Suhaili bin Haji Mohiddin, the Syariah Appeal Court Judge.
The Tahlil was part of annual activities organised by Yayasan to enliven the holy month of Ramadhan.
