The assembly saw the involvement of youths from higher educational institutions, secondary schools, and uniformed associations, as well as those representing themselves. Of the total figure, 1,300 were female participants.

The ceremony aimed at enlivening and upholding the spirit of Ramadhan, and to increase youth participation and involvement in the various religious activities, in particular the reading of the Al-Quran.

It was also meant to fill youths’ leisure time with beneficial activities, and is a reflection of the youths’ drive towards realising His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s vision to make Brunei a Zikir Nation.
