THE final for the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Musabaqah Tilawah Al-Quran, held in conjunction with RBAF’s 56th anniversary, was held yesterday at the Pahlawan Hall of the Berakas Garrison.
The guest of honour was Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, Commander of the RBAF.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by the commencement of the competition.
The event proceeded with the announcement of the winners and a prize presentation by the guest of honour.
For the Qari category, the champion was Cpl Nazirul bin Haji Asmat from the Ministry of Defence followed by Capt Abdul Mujib bin Japar from the RBAF Defence Academy in second and LCpl (U) Asriwendy bin Haji Majid from the Royal Brunei Air Force in third.

In the Qariah category, in first place was Lt Norazimah binti Haji Othman from the Ministry of Defence followed by AB Nurul Hazimah binti Hamzah of Royal Brunei Navy in second and Cpl Hajah Rubiah binti Haji Dagang from the Royal Brunei Land Force in third.
The event concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat.
Also present were the services commanders, Joint Force Commander, directors, senior officers, officers and personnel of the RBAF.
