PEHIN Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, the Minister of Education attended a Qiamullail or ‘Religious Vigil’ at the Sungai Hanching Mosque early yesterday morning.
The vigil was held to enliven the last 10 nights of the holy month of Ramadhan and to glorify the blessed month.
The Qiamullail began with the Sunnat Iftitah prayer followed by Taubat, Tahajjud and Tasbih prayers led by Haji Noorazalenela bin Haji Ratu, the Imam of the mosque.
The event continued with Sahur provided by the Curriculum Development Department and Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) as the coordinator of the event.
The vigil ended with a mass Subuh prayer and a religious talk by Pengiran Haji Hafizuddin bin Pengiran Haji Bakar, the Head Imam of the mosque.
Some 100 senior officers and staff of the Ministry of Education (MoE) as well as mosque committee members and village residents attended the religious event.
Also in attendance were Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, the Deputy Minister of Education; and Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Rector of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA).
