A KHATAM Al-Quran ceremony was held yesterday at the residence of Dato Paduka Awang Haji Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs in Kampong Sungai Hanching.
Present at the event were Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman, Minister of Education; Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman, Minister of Religious Affairs; Dato Seri Setia Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Mohd Yusof, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA); Haji Harun bin Haji Junid and Roslan bin Haji Taja’ah, Deputy Permanent Secretaries at the MoRA.
The ceremony began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, followed by the Takhtim and Doa Khatam, led by Haji Abdul Malik bin Haji Jumat, the Mosque Affairs Officer of RPN Kampong Lambak Kanan.
This continued with recitations of the Tahlil and Doa Arwah, followed by the Doa ‘Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam’, led by Zulkifli bin Haji Murat, the Superintendent of the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque.
The event proceeded with a Dikir Marhaban and concluded with a breaking of the fast and mass Maghrib prayer.
