THE Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) yesterday celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri with its annual charity event for 92 children with special needs of RBAF personnel, who received donations during the event held at the Punai Hall of the Royal Brunei Air Force Base.
Present as guest of honour was the Commander of the RBAF, Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, and spouse, Pengiran Datin Nuur’Izzah Nabilah binti Pengiran Haji Ahmad Mahdi Al-Sufri.
Also present were service commanders, deputy service commanders, military directors, acting deputy commandant of the Training Institute of RBAF, senior officers and personnel of RBAF as well as the parents, guardians and relatives of the special needs children.
The RBAF Welfare Fund, the RBAF Wives Welfare Committee (BAKTI), and individual RBAF personnel donated the charitable contributions, which included monetary donations, gifts, and school stationeries, presented by the Commander of the RBAF and his spouse.
The annual event is one of the community service activities the RBAF organises in recognition of the support it receives from the RBAF community and at the same time, nurtures a culture of giving and generosity amongst the organisation.
