THE Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof yesterday attended the ministry’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration luncheon at the Indoor Stadium, Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas.
Also present were the permanent secretaries, heads of department, senior officers and staff of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), and guests including those from the Youth and Sports Association and the National Service Programme (PKBN) Alumni Association.
The minister mingled with the officers and staff during the Raya gathering, held specially during the weekend so that more staff could join.
A wide range of dishes, Hari Raya cakes and cookies, and drinks were served, with live Hari Raya song performance by MCYS staff to entertain guests.
The Hari Raya gathering is a display of the ministry’s goal to uphold the practice of visiting friends, families and the community. Nearly 400 people attended the celebration.
