SESAME World Technology Sdn Bhd’s directional sound system technology that project sound on a focused area or specific person to create a set boundary without much noise pollution, continued its rise to the global stage by winning yet another award at the recently concluded One Million RMB International Entrepreneurship Competition.
Directional sound system technology was invented in Brunei Darussalam after SESAME World Technology Sdn Bhd opened its operation on April 2015. This is the second time that the company has won an award. Earlier this year, SESAME World Technology Sdn Bhd won first runner up at the Pitch@Palace China 1.0 competition.
With the accolade, Yang Jianfeng, the CEO of SESAME World Technology in an interview yesterday said, “It’s an honour for us and Brunei to take home second place in International Entrepreneurship Award Category for Beijing region at the One Million RMB International Entrepreneurship Competition hosted by HKUST on July 2.”
With the second place award, the company will be heading to the final of the competition on August 18.
From the directional sound system technology, SESAME World Technology Sdn Bhd has come up with its Sonic Ray directional sound speakers that will be available in the global market by the end of this year.
The speakers have received encouraging response from China’s market after it was deployed in shopping malls, museums and convenience stores in numerous city in China. The company attracted the interest of numerous investors looking to mass produce the speakers.
In Brunei Darussalam, Yang Jianfeng revealed that discussions are on to deploy the Sonic Ray products for the Royal Regalia Building in the capital. He is also looking at using directional sound system technology to produce hearing aid for senior citizens by the middle of next year.
He hopes that with the Brunei Government’s support, Sonic Ray will start its mass production by next year with an assembly plant in the country. The products will be exported globally, especially for the Middle East market.
Currently in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Brunei, he said, “We will continue our research and development works and are looking at exploring more potential products using the directional sound system technology in the future.”
Asked about the reasons of locating to Brunei, he replied that Brunei is a very safe country and has a very good relationship with China. Brunei is an Islamic country and the company hopes to better understand Islam and venture into the global Islamic market, he said.
