DST’s Ihsan Kasih concluded its Syawal celebrations with Hari Raya gatherings for special needs children in Temburong, Tutong and Belait Districts yesterday. Celebrations in Tutong were held in the morning at the Community Hall of Kampong Serambangun, while the same morning, celebrations in the Belait District took place at the Kuala Belait Conference Hall.
A similar event was also held at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Bumiputra Complex in Temburong District, a press release stated.
Leading the DST Ihsan Kasih Hari Raya team was Ang Siok Tuan, General Manager of Group Finance at DST. In the Belait District, DST’s Hari Raya celebrations were led by Haji Amer Iskandar bin Pehin Dato Haji Zakaria, Assistant General Manager of Business Division.
Meanwhile, in the Temburong District, DST’s Ihsan Kasih Hari Raya team was led by Hajah Fa’ikah binti Ahmad, Assistant General Manager of Group Facilities Management.
DST invited over 800 registered students, parents/guardians, teachers, officers and representatives from respective centres including the Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA), Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam, SMARTER Brunei, Pusat Bahagia, and the Hearing Impaired under the Special Education Unit, Ministry of Education.
The highlight of the celebration was the presentation of green packets by the chief guests.
DST also provided musical entertainment, games and mascot appearances for the special guests.
The celebration with the children, as part of DST Ihsan Kasih’s overall Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project, was aimed at sharing the joyous experience, and showing care, love and concern to the special needs community.
The Hari Raya gatherings hosted by DST also helps foster better understanding among fellow DST staff, parents and children and representatives from each centre.
Yesterday’s events marked the end of DST’s Hari Raya celebrations with special needs individuals which began on July 14 at the International Convention Centre in Berakas for those in the Brunei-Muara District.
