THE Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, yesterday received a visit at the Ministry of Home Affairs building’s guest room from Leo Yip, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Republic of Singapore, and National Security and Intelligence Coordination.
The visit marked an understanding and cooperation between the two neighbouring countries, as well as the opportunity to exchange views and information on matters of mutual interest.
A bilateral meeting was also held consecutively with the delegation of Singapore’s Ministry of Home Affairs led by the Singaporean permanent secretary in the Muwaffaqah room.
In addition, the meetings marked another milestone in the exclusive relationship between both countries, as agreed in the ‘letter of intent ‘ that was signed between the Ministries of Home Affairs on September 9, 2014, especially in areas of national security – namely, the scope of cooperation between the two in ‘Border Control Measures’, ‘Fire-Fighting’ and ‘Urban Search and Rescue Management’.
