LegCo speaker commends all for job well done at 12th session

THE Speaker of the Legislative Council (LegCo) commended all stakeholders for the successful deliberations at the session.

YB Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Lela Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Dato Setia Haji Mohamed Taib reminded LegCo members of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s titah at the opening of the 12th LegCo session on March 5, when the monarch urged the appointed members of the LegCo to voice their suggestions and thoughts on efforts in reducing country’s dependency on oil and gas resources.

“Alhamdulillah, in upholding His Majesty‘s vision, all the appointed members have successfully deliberated their valuable views, suggestions and thoughts during the discussions.”

The LegCo Speaker hopes that issues and suggestions brought during the meeting would yield positive results.

“We need to get out from our comfort zone and practise prudence needs. We shall not be weakened and demoralised. We must stand up and think outside the box,” he said.

“We must be optimistic and realistic in thinking. Efforts in enhancing and strengthening the country’s economy not only focus on one party, but it needs integrated and collective efforts by all.”
