HER Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah, President of the Girl Guides Association of Brunei Darussalam (PPPBD) and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah yesterday attended the 9th Community Day of PPPBD.
It was held at the association headquarters in Anggerek Desa, Berakas.
The celebration is an annual activity of the association which also coincided to mark the birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah.
The ceremony also saw the launching of a project called ‘Jari-Jari Hijau’ by Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah, a long-term project which is a follow-up of the previous project, ‘Serving the Earth’.
Hajah Siti Hafsah binti Haji Abdul Halim, Chief Commissioner of PPPBD said the project is in line with their education programme.
“Upon completion, the participants will receive environment, health and food safety badges as the project is about climate change, health and healthy food,” she said.
The project is filled with tree planting activities such as ornamental trees, fruits, herbs in a small scale and in the form of organic planting.
The project will equip the members with skills and make them acquainted with the environment, recycling activity and agriculture.
Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah presented guideline books of the project to six secondary schools, sixth form centres and colleges. Her Royal Highness also toured an exhibition portraying the community activity of the members.
The activity was held to expose and educate the members to assist the community especially those in need of assistance and to instil and strengthen national identity, discipline and working spirit through community activities.
