Brunei inks agreement with Cambodia

BRUNEI Darussalam and Cambodia signed an Agreement for the Avoidance of Double Taxation (ADTA) and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with respect to Taxes on Income yesterday at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Cambodia.

Signing on behalf of the Government of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam was Pengiran Kasmirhan bin Pengiran Haji Tahir, the Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Cambodia, and signing on behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia was Dr Aun Pornmoniroth, the Senior Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance.

This agreement is a significant step forward in enhancing the economic, trade and investment cooperation especially through the private sectors of both countries as they will benefit from the reduction of the tax liability from each jurisdiction.

These agreements will facilitate the Government of Brunei Darussalam and Royal Government of Cambodia to exchange information with regards to taxation matters according to the internationally agreed tax information exchange standards which Brunei Darussalam is committed to implement.
