Thanksgiving prayers for MoE Haj pilgrims

THE Ministry of Education (MoE) yesterday held a thanksgiving and Doa Selamat ceremony for 73 officers and staff who will be going for this year’s Haj pilgrimage.

The ceremony took place at the Main Hall of the ministry’s new extension building.

Present as the guest of honour was the Minister of Education Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suyoi bin Haji Osman.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat by Mosque Affairs Officer Mohd Zakaria bin Haji Mohd Salleh.

The ceremony was enlivened with a religious talk on performing Haj by Ustaz Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ajak from the Brunei Islamic Religious Council.

The ceremony later saw the presentation of donations to the pilgrims by the guest of honour and concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat.

Also in attendance were the Deputy Minister of Education Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar; Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the MoE, Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh; vice chancellors and universities’ rectors, deputy permanent secretaries, heads of departments; officers and staff members of the ministry.

The event was organised by the Private Institutions Section, Public Relation Unit and the Secretariat of National Accreditation Council of the MoE.
