HIS Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office has underlined the importance of ensuring continuous momentum in the preparations for the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s Accession to the Throne.
In a sabda delivered at the fourth meeting of the Executive Committee for the Golden Jubilee Celebration, His Royal Highness called for further enhancement of dedication and commitment, particularly from each of the celebration’s sectoral committees.
The meeting was held at the Prime Minister’s Office Building at Jalan Perdana Menteri.
His Royal Highness, who is also the Patron of the Advisory Committee for the Golden Jubilee Celebration, further recommended that the relevant preparations be completed by the end of August.
His Royal Highness also shared with the meeting the titah of His Majesty regarding matters arising from the Third Executive Committee Meeting, among which are: The duration of the ‘Gendang Jaga-Jaga Ceremony’ of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty‘s Accession to the Throne; a call for the committee to propose programmes or activities that are much anticipated by the public and that would bring them considerable benefit and relevance, thereby adding to the meaningful significance of the Golden Jubilee Celebration, for example, the awarding of a Special Scholarship in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee; and the consent of His Majesty for the proposed dates of opening ceremonies and for the renaming of certain infrastructures.
In the sabda, His Royal Highness also stated that the main events of the Golden Jubilee Celebration must possess their own attractions that would galvanise the public and inspire them to engage and participate in the celebration.
His Royal Highness further stressed that dissemination of information on the Golden Jubilee Celebration should be carried out after His Majesty’S 71st birthday celebrations, both within and outside the country, as it is a highly meaningful and significant event in the history of the Sultanate.
His Royal Highness also hoped that a suitable dissemination of information via traditional and new media would foster patriotism and shore up the spirit of the Golden Jubilee Celebration.
His Royal Highness urged citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam to show and maintain good image during the Golden Jubilee Celebration because the country will welcome the presence of specially invited guests as well as visitors from around the world.
A good image is very important as to give the visitors many pleasant memories and an experience of a lifetime, His Royal Highness concluded.
Also in yesterday’s meeting, the Executive Committee discussed preparations for the celebration in all four districts.
His Royal Highness was greeted on arrival for the Executive Committee meeting by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, Member of the Advisory Committee for the Golden Jubilee Celebration.
Also present to greet His Royal Highness the Crown Prince were the Co-Chairpersons of the Executive Committee for the Golden Jubilee Celebration Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara; Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs; Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance II; Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti; and Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Mohd Nawawi bin Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Haji Awang Mohd Taha, Private and Confidential Secretary to His Majesty.
Prior to the meeting, a Doa Selamat was read by YB Pehin Datu Imam Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Hamid bin Bakal, member of the Executive Committee for the Golden Jubilee Celebration.
The meeting commenced with opening remarks by Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz.
