RESIDENTS of Kuala Belait participated in the KBKu Ceria recently organised for the third time in the Belait District.
Jalan Sungai was closed for vehicles, enabling the public to walk and cycle.
The event aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle as well as to promote various vendors and local talents.
Roads were closed early during the night in conjunction with the night market organised in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam 71st birthday celebrations.
The road closure including the other activities ended before midnight and continued the following day at around 6am.
Participants shared that the event was a positive experience pointing out that it was an avenue to practice a healthy lifestyle as well as a platform to socialise with friends and family.
Some vendors included various agencies that had set up booths at the event to help raise funds to aid those in need such as orphans.
Muslimah Rizqah, a local volunteer group, set up their booth to sell various items and trinkets to raise funds for orphans in the Belait District and more.
Other vendors such as HealthyFood KB sold healthy food and drinks.
Members from the Institute of Brunei Technical Education Satellite campuses were also present to promote various skills and products by students. Representatives from the Oil and Gas Discovery Centre also present showcased various science experiments to promote learning.
Other performances included a taekwondo performance, zumba aerobic session as well as an Amazing Race.
