UNIVERSITI Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), through its Student Affairs Section and Halalan Thayyiban Research Centre, recently held a ‘Halal Science Interaction Programme’ for its Halal Science students and students from Thailand’s Princess of Naradhiwas University (PNU).
The programme, held at the UNISSA Auditorium, was to strengthen the partnership between the two universities, which had been signed at the PNU in Thailand on March 28 through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
A total of 46 PNU students, currently undergoing Intensive English Proficiency Course under the Global Discovery Programme of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), were invited to UNISSA to attend the programme along with 26 UNISSA students.
The event is an introduction to UNISSA’s recently established Halalan Thayyiban Research Centre (PPHT), which is led by Associate Professor Dr Nurdeng Deuraseh as the centre’s Director.
The programme hopes to be a turning point for organising joint programmes between the two universities in the future as well as a platform for students of both universities to interact with each other in discussing and sharing knowledge.
An ice breaking session and video presentations were also held at the event.
Also present at the event were the Deputy Dean of Student Affairs Section of UNISSA, Nurhafizatulhikmah binti Haji Serbini, who delivered a welcoming remarks to the students.
