HIS Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council yesterday expressed his hope that the training received in preparation for the 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Kuala Lumpur will only do good for athletes in their quest to succeed in the regional competition.
Speaking on the sideline of the national flag handing over ceremony for the athletes at the National Indoor Stadium, His Royal Highness also hoped they will strive to improve results than the SEA Games in 2015.
On Monday and Tuesday, His Royal Highness personally visited several training grounds of the athletes to observe preparations and their well-being.
The President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council reiterated that Brunei’s athletes must be well-prepared physically and mentally, focussed and well-disciplined.
Most importantly, His Royal Highness highlighted that athletes must not get involved in using any banned substances.
His Royal Highness also advised athletes to not get nervous, keep their focus and avoid getting distracted by the crowd.
