Nominations open for Brunei Rice Bowl Startup Awards

TO CELEBRATE the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship in the startup ecosystem, the Brunei Rice Bowl Startup Awards are now open for nomination.

During a press conference held yesterday at the Knowledge Hub (KHub) in Anggerek Desa Technology Park by the Creative Core BN, the country partner for the Asean Rice Bowl Startup Awards (ARBSA), said that that it was the first time in three years that the ARBSA would be receiving nominees and representatives from all 10 Asean member countries, including Brunei.

The Brunei Rice Bowl Startup Awards are divided into five categories: Best Social Impact Startup, Best E-commerce/Supply Chain Startup, Founder of the Year, Best Newcomer and Startup of the Year.

The award aims to reward excellence, best practices and innovation in startups across the region, recognising the excitement, risks and hard-work involved in developing a startup, as well as the influence each person has on driving the success of their company.

In addition, the award also functions as a global platform for startup businesses to find partnership opportunities and investment from local and foreign investors.

The Asean Rice Bowl Startup Awards, organised by New Entrepreneurs Foundation (Malaysia) is the official Southeast Asia circuit for the Global Startup Awards, which is divided into three rounds – national level, regional level and global level.

The regional ARBSA winners will represent Southeast Asia at the Global Startup Awards finale in 2018.

Eligible to all startup companies under five years, the nominations are open until August 30.

The nominations can be made by via bit.ly/bruneiricebowlstartupawardsnominations, and the criteria are available online on Facebook at bruneiricebowlstartupawards.
