His Royal Highness watches pencak silat competition

HIS Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, President of the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council (BDNOC) yesterday attended the pencak silat event in the 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games at the Juara Stadium Bukit Kiara.

Brunei Darussalam national pencak silat athlete Muhd Imanuddin bin Ahmad competed in the Tunggal Putra event in Pool ‘A’ which included countries from Laos, the Philippines and Singapore.

Meanwhile, Pool ‘B’ comprised of nations from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

The best countries who excel in their respective pools will meet in the finals to decide the title in the event.

In this edition of the SEA Games, Brunei Darussalam has sent two athletes in pencak silat including Norleyermah binti Haji Raya who competed in the Tunggal Wanita event.

The final competition day for pencak silat will be contested today with countries vying to win the final few medals on offering.
