HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday visited the Brunei Darussalam Commodities Pavilion of the 14th China-Asean Expo (CAEXPO), which is held at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Centre (NICEC) in Nanning, People’s Republic of China. Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was welcomed by Lan Tianli, First Vice Governor of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China.
His Majesty then proceeded to Hall 5 to tour the Brunei Darussalam Commodities Pavilion, which is participated by more than a hundred micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), education institutions, government-linked companies (GLCs), and Chinese companies with business presence in Brunei Darussalam.
Prior to leaving the NICEC, His Majesty joined exhibitors from Brunei Darussalam for a group photograph session.
The Brunei Darussalam Commodities Pavilion of the 14th CAEXPO provides an opportunity for Brunei’s local entrepreneurs, institutions and companies to promote and market their products and services in international markets.
Along with the 14th CAEXPO, the 14th China-Asean Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) will also be held at the NICEC.
The expo will be held from September 12 to 15, and will see Brunei Darussalam as the Country of Honour for a second time. The Sultanate was the first Country of Honour during the fourth CAEXPO held in 2007.
Also present during His Majesty the Sultan’s visit to the Brunei pavilion were Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II; Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Awang Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar, Minister of Energy and Industry at the Prime Minister’s Office; Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports; and Dato Seri Paduka Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Deputy Minister of Finance.
