KEEP improving performance for future tournaments inside and outside country, the President of the Brunei Darussalam Athletics Federation (BDAF) told athletes during an Appreciation Ceremony at the Brunei Hotel in the capital.
The BDAF president, Kifli bin Haji Ja’afar started the ceremony with a welcoming speech.
“I hope the athletes will keep on practising and won’t stop trying to improve their individual records as we will be concentrating for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in Manila. We are also targeting Asian Games in Jakarta and Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast in Australia.
“And I hope the association and coaches will not stop at 100m and 4x100m categories. I would like to see more categories being competed by our athletes in the future.”
The President presented the certificates of appreciation to the athletes who participated in the recent SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur.
Receiving certificate of appreciation and $150 for breaking the national record during the SEA Games in the 4x100m event with 40.21 seconds are Mohd Fakri bin Ismail, Mohd Noor Firdaus Ar-Rasyid bin Haji Mohd Idris, Mohd Faaizul bin Abdulah, Abdul Rahim bin Abdullah and Mohd Asy-Syafi’e bin Bohari.
Mohd Firdaus Ar-Rasyid also received certificate of appreciation and $300 for breaking the 200m national record with 21.39s.
