MEMBERS of the Brunei Mini Owners Association (MOA) recently held a road trip to Tenom, Sabah to meet fellow mini enthusiasts and associations for the 3rd Borneo Mini Run event.
More than 35 participants left for Tenom for the two-day trip, driving their Austin Mini, Mini Clubman, Mini Moke, Mini Clutch, Mini One and Mini John Cooper.
After having breakfast in Temburong, Brunei MOA members and family including the association’s President, Romzi bin Haji Md Yusof led the convoy and stopped by Sipitang town for lunch while waiting for members of the Borneo Classic Mini Group (BCMG) to join the journey.
After six hours of journey, members of Brunei MOA and BCMG arrived at Fatt Choi Homestay.
The route to Tenom was very challenging for classic mini cars due to altitude and rainy weather. In the evening, members of both associations from Brunei and Sabah had dinner and celebrated the success of the Borneo Mini Run, and MOA’s 3rd year anniversary.
Before departing from Sabah to Brunei, Brunei MOA and BCMG members visited places of interest.
Romzi said the event was organised for members of Brunei MOA and BCMG to spend some quality time together as well as giving some of the younger family members a chance to learn more about other communities and cultures.
The Vice President of Mini Classic Owner Brunei (MCOB), Haslan bin Haji Abu Bakar said it was the first time for the classic minis to join the trip, where they successfully drove up the steep mountain road and were lucky to not experience any engine problems.
He added that the objective of the trip was to strengthen the relationship among Brunei and Sabah, and sharing mutual interests towards mini cars.
