THREE women recently departed for Seoul, South Korea, where they will represent Brunei Darussalam at the Asean Next-Generation Leaders Visit Korea Programme.
Thien Yin En @ Hannah, a fresh graduate from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD); Amal Najibah binti Mohd Rapin, a student at UBD; and Borneo Bulletin’s Lyna Mohamad will be joining 33 other representatives of Asean member countries at the week-long programme.
Hosted by the Asean Culture House of the Korea Foundation, the programme will see participants taken on tours and attend presentations in Seoul and Busan.
While in Seoul, the participants will visit the Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS) Drama Studio, the KF Global Centre, the Seoul Tower, the Royal Palace and the MBC World (Broadcasting Theme Park), along with an experience of the Korean Wave programmes.
After two days in Seoul, participants will travel to Busan for more site visits to the Asean Culture House, Dongbakseon Island and the Gamcheon Culture Village, in addition to more meetings and presentations.
Since its establishment in 1991, the Korea Foundation has implemented a variety of public diplomacy activities through cultural and arts exchange, support for Korean studies abroad, global networking and media programmes to help other people around the globe enhance their understanding of Korea and join the global friendship network.
Additionally, the Korea Foundation also plans to conduct further participatory public diplomacy programmes to consolidate Korea’s expertise in international exchange activities.
