THE Brunei Fitness Expo (BruXFit) was officially launched yesterday, with its sight cast on promoting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging an active lifestyle among the community.
Now in its second consecutive year, the four-day expo aspires to be one of the largest health and fitness events in Brunei Darussalam, encompassing all aspects of a healthy lifestyle.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof officiated the launch.
BruXfit Co-Founder Syen Sofian bin Haji Abdullah pointed out that the expo will this year “focus more on activities and give more floor space for fun and movements.”
“Throughout the four days, members of the public can participate in various fitness and sporting activities provided by our partners,” he added.
They include Brunei Calisthenics BarRage 4, Fitness Zone free 3-days pass, Poni Divers’ pool dives, Muay Thai Fitness, Capoeira Brunei, Up Climbing Centre and Rhythm Movements Spinning demonstrations.
Gleneagles JPMC will conduct free health checkups, while Jerudong Park Medical Centre will hold a blood donation drive.
This year, BruXfit has partnered with Cube Junction to provide space for small medium businesses to introduce and sell their products.
One of the BruXFit main events is the BarRage 4 competition organised by Brunei Calisthenics and supported by the World Calisthenics Organisation.
This year will see close to 40 athletes from Brunei, Indonesia and Malaysia, joined by Calisthenics experts and officials from the United States and the United Kingdom.
Demonstrations on the art of Capoeira, Muay Thai and calisthenics took place before the minister visited the exhibition booths. Activities will be held from 10am to 10pm daily. For more information, visit ‘bru.x.fit’ on social media.
